Classwork: We worked on an investigation about the conservation of energy. Today we will finish up the investigation and see how energy was conserved in the system of the car rolling down the track.
Homework: Students should finish the graph and all of the questions in the investigation by Thursday.
Coming up: Friday we will discuss the outline of the joint ELA/science research project on alternative fuels. Research will happen in class everyday Tuesday-Friday of next week. Students need to have all their research complete by Monday, January 23rd to use during ELA class to begin writing their essay.
Students practiced demonstrative adjectives and pronouns and made flashcards for them. They were also given the speaking questions for the midterm exam so that they have plenty of time to prepare.
Homework: The Unit 6 practice test on VHL will officially be assigned for homework on Friday and is due next Tuesday. However, the assignment has already been posted on the website so students can complete it this week if they are traveling over the long weekend.

RR ELA- Reading logs are due Tuesday ( 1.17.17) students should be reading for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week. Students must also complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for all five days. The grammar quiz will be on Friday (1.20.17) students should study pages 24-31 in their grammar packets.
RR Math- The blue group can finish workbook pages ( week 4, day 1) if not completed in class. the red group worked on homework and test corrections.

Pick one of the following assignments to complete by Jan. 18th. Assignment #1 TABATA is 20 seconds of maximum intensity followed by 10 seconds of lower intensity (repeated a minimum of 4 times.)
Assignment • Create a 4 minute tabata routine using eight 30-second intervals (20 seconds high intensity, 10 seconds low intensity). • Four different movements 2 times or 8 different movements are allowed. Your workout must include cardio, muscular strength and muscular endurance movements. Be creative!! • Groups are limited to no more than three people. A written copy of your workout must be given to your teacher prior to your performance of the routine. This homework is due on Wed., Jan 18th. The assignment may be submitted before the due date, but it will be late (lower grade) if not turned in when you come to class.
