Math 8 - Stone

We started investigation 3 today. We looked recognized patterns within tables. We can identify what kind of function it is and create an equation that fits the data (find the rule). Use your notes to help you with the homework.

Students practiced affirmative and negative words and reflexive verbs.

Reflexive Verbs Quiz: Tomorrow

Students will have a guest teacher next Wednesday and Thursday while Ms. Dixon is chaperoning the school trip. They will be working on a reflexive book project that we will go over tomorrow. All information for the assignment is also available on Google Classroom.

Stein - individuals & Societies 8 - 2.15.17

What We Did Today:

Students read Chapter 9, Section 3 in class and completed the Section 3 Assessment. Students also received the directions for the Chapter 9 Assessment and began working on the assessment. The assignment is available on Google Classroom as well as at http://norupstein.weebly.com/individuals--societies-blog . There is an audio mp3 of Section 3 on Google Classroom.

Big Idea:

As the United States grew, developments in many cultural areas contributed to the creation of a new American identity.

Homework:

Work on Chapter 9 Assessment. Current Event due Friday.

Stein - Math 8 Plus - 2.15.17

What We Did Today:

Students completed their vocabulary for Investigation 1. Students also answered the questions on page 28 in their notebooks. They needed to include evidence and examples to support their thinking. The questions are listed at http://norupstein.weebly.com/math-8-plus-blog

Learning Goals:

  • Explore techniques for using rigid motion transformations to create symmetric designs

  • Recognize properties of reflection, rotation, and translation transformations

Science-Wilcox-Wednesday

Today we took the mid term exam.

Thursday we will be reading an article about electricity in New York and completing a "Text in the Middle" meta cognitive reading strategy. The link to the article is:

This is an assignment that needs to be completed if you are absent.

Canvasser 2.15.17 Wednesday

RR ELA- Reading logs are due Wednesday ( 2.22.17) students  should be reading for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week. Students must also complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for five days a week. The grammar quiz will be on Friday ( 3.3.17).

RR Math- The blue group can complete workbook pages ( week 2, day 2) if not finished in class. The signed homework packet and multiplication sheet are due on/before Monday ( 2.27.17) the math test will also be on Monday ( 2.27.17).
