All hours:  The electricity test is Wednesday.  Be sure to study the test review!  Thursday, Friday, and Monday are work days for the electrical circuit assignment, with the final project and presentation being due Tuesday, March 28.

Math 8 - Stone

Today, we "poured and filled" to discover volume formulas. We started with the volume of a cylinder to help us discover the formulas for a cone and a sphere. Some of the equations are tough.

Homework: page 34 (10-12) It can be a little tough so try using real numbers for r and h. It may help you see the change.

Science-Wilcox-Tuesday

Today we took the electricity test.

Please make sure you are prepared for the in class project work days. We will have Wednesday-Friday this week plus next Monday to work in class.

Students should bring their circuit building materials to class or come prepared to begin typing their paper.

Alarm circuits and papers are due Tuesday, March 28th.

Stein - Math 8 Plus - 3.21.17

What We Did Today:

Students went over the answers from Problem 3.1 and completed Problem 3.2 Sliding on a Grid: Coordinate Rules for Translations. Students had to determine patterns between sets of ordered pairs and translated figures. Notes for 3.1 are available at http://norupstein.weebly.com/math-8-plus-blog

 

Focus Question:

What kind of coordinate rule (x,y)→(   ,   ) tells how to "move" any point to its image under a translation?

Stein - Individuals & Societies 8 - 3.21.17

What We Did Today:

Students completed reading Chapter 12, Section 1 and started reading Chapter 12, Section 2. Students defined the bolded words in the sections using the reading, not the glossary, to build familiarity with context.

 

Homework:

Finish reading Chapter 12, Sections 1 and 2 if not completed in class.

 

Announcements:

There will be an open-book test over Chapter 12 on Tuesday, March 28.

Spanish 2

Students practiced the new Unit 8 vocabulary.
