Friday, September 4

MEAP testing begins next week! 8th graders will have Reading on Oct. 8 & 9, Math on Oct. 15 and Science on Oct. 16.

Science: Took the Unit 1 quiz.  No homework! We will be completing the unit with more discussions of graphs next week, in addition to beginning our next lab "How Fast Am I?".


Geometry: We began our unit on quadrilaterals by making cubes out of Origami paper. Homework is to answer the questions related to the small cube. We will continue this next week with a larger cube followed by constructions of quadrilaterals. 


Corrective Reading logs due Monday with five different responses.


Resource Room Math packets are due Friday.

Spanish II: The three review sheets are all due Mon, Oct 14th. I am moving the test day to the 14th because we have MEAP on Tuesday. Your homework until then, is to work on these worksheets. answers will be posted on my blog (franciscaroth.weebly.com) The answers will be on my blog by tonight. Look at the unit 3 worksheet tonight and put stars by the parts you don't know.
French I: Study your new words: the blue words on page 45 and make flashcards for them. You will have a quiz on these words on Monday.

Spanish (Tomlinson): Ejercicios:  3,4,5,7-pp. 32-34; write answers in complete sentences in Spanish

ELA - We will be starting our Science Fiction Unit next week so all students needed to be done at least two books by today.  We were reading and taking AR quizzes all this week, hoping this helped students that were behind in their reading.  If your student still has some reading in their novel please have them read this weekend. Homework: READ! 

Chinese: Practice writing Chinese characters by making cards for Chinese Teacher's Day.  

Humanities: Students reviewed 4.3, were introduced to 4.4 and began working on 4.4 notes in class. Homework is to complete 4.4 notes. Have a great weekend.


Course 3: We started to talk about the commutative and associative properties.  No homework.

Creative Writing: Today in Creative Writing we discussed yesterday's grammar assessment, continued writing intro paragraphs for the literary essay, and read independently. Homework: Read your novel.
