Classwork

We completed and summarized 3.1, Discovering the Pythagorean Theorem, on page 38. Students worked through A and B. We generalized our findings into a formula. Go to http://norupstein.weebly.com/math-8-plus-homework-and-answers for the notes and summary.

Focus Question

"You know the sum of the two shortest side lengths of a triangle must be greater than the third side length. Is there a similar relationship among the squares on the sides of a triangle? Is the relationship the same for all triangles?"


 

Science- Monday, May 10

Classwork: Continued our study of amusement park physics by learning about how some of the simulations run at NASA's Glenn Research Center relate to amusement park rides.
 

Geometry- Tuesday, May 10

Classwork: Continued the "Money Munchers" problem by analyzing student work, revisiting our individual work from yesterday, and then working with groups to come up with a solution.
 

Canvasser 5.10.16 Tuesday

RR ELA- If you did not turn in your reading log yesterday, you can do so tomorrow for late points. Your new reading logs are due Monday (5.16.16) students should be reading for a minimum of 20 minutes ( five days a week). You must complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for all five days.

RR Math- Blue group can finish day 4, if you did not complete it in class. The math packet and multiplication sheet are due on/before Friday (5.13.16) the math test will also be on Friday (5.13.16). If you would like your math packet checked so it can be used as a study tool, it must be turn in by Thursday (5.12.16)
