Geometry- Thursday, November 5

Classwork: Students went over the Unit 2 practice test/review.

Homework: Study for tomorrow's test

Discussion Starters: Here are some suggestions to help prepare/review:

1) Practice constructions of reflections, rotations and (especially) translations. Remember that a translation is based on parallel lines which is one of the harder constructions.

2) What are the coordinate rules for rotations (90, 180 & 270) & reflections (over y axis, x axis, y=x & y=-x). Students who are good at memorizing might want to make flashcards. If memorization is NOT something they excel at (like Ms. Throm) remember that you can figure out the coordinate rules based on understanding the constructions- use slope and distance to do the transformation. This demonstrates a much deeper understanding of the mathematics and doesn't require you to take up brain space with memorizing!

Science- Thursday, November 5

Classwork: Played Jeopardy to review for next week's test.

Homework: Review is due Friday for 2nd & 3rd hour, due Monday for 4th-7th hours.

Discussion Starters: Did your team win at jeopardy today?
