Math 8 - Stone

Today we finished up our lessons on exponents. We talked about multiplying and dividing numbers written in scientific notation.

Spanish 2

Students practiced demonstrative adjectives and pronouns.

Homework: The Unit 6 practice test on VHL will officially be assigned for homework tomorrow and is due next Tuesday. However, the assignment has already been posted on the website so students can complete it tonight if they are traveling over the long weekend.

Unit 6 Test: Thursday, January 19
Speaking Midterm: Wednesday, January 25
Midterm Exam: Thursday, January 26-Friday, January 27

*Midterm study materials are available on Ms. Dixon's website (www.berkleydixon.weebly.com). There are also practice tests for each unit on the textbook website (www.vhlcentral.com). We will be reviewing in class for 3-4 days prior to the exam.

Science-Wilcox-Thursday

Classwork: Today we read and took notes on Efficiency. We then answered review questions from that section of reading and practiced solving problems using the efficiency formula. 
Homework: Students need to finish the two efficiency worksheets with problem solving boxes that were given in class. This will be collected on Tuesday. 

Coming up: Friday we will be discussing the joint research project and reviewing the research outline. Students will have class time everyday next week Tuesday-Friday to research their chosen alternative fuel. They will then use this research to write their paper during ELA class time. 

Canvasser 1.12.17 Thursday

RR ELA- Reading logs are due Tuesday ( 1.17.17) students should be reading for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week. Students must also complete the short reader's response section, along with having  a parent signature for all five days. There will be a grammar quiz Friday ( 1.20.17) students should study pages 24-31 in their grammar packets.

RR Math- The red group can finish workbook pages ( week 4, day 1) if not completed in class. The blue group worked on homework and test corrections. The signed homework packet and multiplication sheet are due on/before Tuesday ( 1.24.17) the math test will also be on Tuesday ( 1.24.17) . The math notes, workbook pages, and math packet are great study tools!
