Math 8 - Stone

Today, we went over the first page of our study guide. It is available at the link below. We also created a concept map with all the key concepts from the unit. If you missed class, it is also attached below. Our homework tonight is to finish the second page of the study guide you received on Friday and to complete the new study guide you received today.

What We Did Today:

Students completed chapter 15.1 and started 15.2, free choice.

Stein - Math 8 Plus - 4.24.17

What We Did Today:

Students started Problem 1.1, Butterfly Symmetry: Line Reflections. Students discovered relationship between a line of reflection and the line segments drawn from an original vertex to its reflection vertex. Students used these generalized relationships to draw their own reflections. Notes and vocabulary are available at http://norupstein.weebly.com/math-8-plus-blog

Focus Question:

What does it mean to say that a figure has flip or reflectional symmetry? How is each point related to its image under transformation by reflection in a line?

Stein - Intro to Coding - 4.24.17

What We Did Today:

To compute more than just numbers, students learned about two new data types, Strings (any string of alphanumeric characters) and Images. Using these new data types, we practiced manipulating images. Canvasser 4.24.17 Monday

Happy Monday!

RR ELA- Reading logs were due today, if you did not turn on in you may do so tomorrow for late points. The new reading logs are due Monday ( 5.1.17) students should be reading for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week. Students must also complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for all five days.

RR Math- The red group can complete workbook pages ( week 2, day 2) if not finished in class. The signed homework packet and multiplication sheet are due Tuesday ( 5.2.17) the math test will also be on Tuesday ( 5.2.17)
