All hours:  The Rocket Racers project will be finished tomorrow, so all packets will be due by the end of the day on Friday.

Geometry

Classwork: Students worked with their kitchen geometry information to begin making scale drawings and comparing data to make congruence and similarity justifications.

Homework: Tomorrow will be the last day in class to work on the kitchen geometry project so please come prepared!

-Friday, 1/6 homework-6.3 free choice.
-Monday, 1/9 homework-study for test/current event (due Friday)/IB project update (due Thursday).
-Tuesday, 1/10 homework-study for test/current event (due Friday)/IB project update (due Thursday).
-Wednesday, 1/11 TEST-homework-current event (due Friday)/IB project update (due Thursday).
-Thursday, 1/12-IB project update in class-homework-current event due Friday.
-Friday, 1/13-current event in class-no homework.

Test questions:
6.1-Name the three Branches of Government.  What is each responsible for?  How do they check the power of the others (give one example from each), and which do you believe to be most important and why?

6.2-What is the Bill of Rights?  Which of our first ten amendments is most important and why?  Give an example of this amendment being used/abused in the "real world."

6.3-What are three rights and responsibilities of being a U.S. citizen?  How do rights and responsibilities balance each other?  Which responsibly (duty/obligation) of being a U.S. citizen is most important and why?

Students practiced double vowel verbs in the preterit tense and reviewed Unit 6 vocabulary.

Happy New Year!

Classwork: Yesterday we reviewed our unit 2 test and finished up our Rocket Racers illustrating Newton's 3rd Law. A complete rocket racer lab packet is due Friday, if students have not already turned it in. Today we are starting our unit on Energy by reading about what energy is and how we can understand energy in the world around us.

Coming up: Students will be researching an alternative fuel source for a joint project with ELA classes. More information to come! The mid-term exam will come after the end of the second marking period.

Canvasser 1.5.17 Thursday

RR ELA- The reading logs are due Monday ( 1.9.17) students should be reading for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week. Students must also complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for all five days.

RR Math- The blue group can complete workbook pages ( week 3, day 2) if not completed in class. The signed homework packet and multiplication sheet are due on/before Tuesday ( 1.10.17) the math test will also be on Tuesday (1.101.17). The homework packet, notes, and workbook pages are great study tools!
