Kennedy - English

Students began their Literary Analysis work today.  I distributed text packets and modeled how to mark up a text for analysis with "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury.  Students MAY NOT use this short story for their paper as I will be modeling the writing process using this story.

Science- Monday, November 9

Classwork: 2nd & 3rd Hour took the test, 4th-7th hour went over the review for the test tomorrow. Mrs. Wilcox also returned labs and discussed lab corrections. 

Homework: Afternoon classes should study for tomorrow's test. Mrs. Wilcox's classes should do lab corrections by Wednesday.

Discussion Starters: For morning class, how did the test go? For afternoon classes, how do they feel about tomorrow's test?

Geometry- Monday, November 9

Classwork: Began our unit on Congruence by discussing congruence in terms of rigid motion.

Homework: Congruence practice #1-6

Discussion Starters: How did you do on the unit 2 test? Re-takes must occur by Thursday to count for the card-marking.

The Unit 5 Part 2 vocabulary quiz has been moved from tomorrow to Wednesday.

Classwork
Writer's Workshop: Thematic Essay - Day 1. Students received text packs with 4 short stories included. We read through the first story  ("All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury) and identified signposts as a class. Students then began reading through the remainder of their text packs. 

Homework

Announcement
This week students will meet with Mrs. Ramin to determine their second quarter reading goals. We will be using students' reading levels along with first quarter points earned to help determine this goal. As a reminder, students should be reading consistently at home for an average of 35 minutes a night

Canvasser 11.9.15 Monday

RR ELA- Reading Logs are due!
New reading logs are due Monday (11.16.15)
Students should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes (5 days a week)
Do not forget the short reader's response section, along with a parent signature!

RR Math- The homework packet is due on/or before Monday (11.16.15)
The math test will also be on Monday (11.16.15)
The packet, workbook pages, and notes are great study tools!

Individuals and Societies

-Students checked 5.3 and began to work on 5.4 section assessment in class today.
-5.4 section assessment is due tomorrow.
-Permission slips and group choice paragraphs were due today.
