Spanish 2
Ramin - ELA
Stein - Individuals & Societies 8 - 4.26.17
What We Did Today:
Students reviewed 15.3 and 15.4 and started a "Causes of the Civil War" time-line. The time-line needs to include at least ten causes of the Civil War. Each event needs to have an explanation of why it helped cause the Civil War.
Announcements:

Stein - Intro to Coding - 4.26.17
What We Did Today:
Students decomposed existing functions, wrote contracts that describe functions and experimented with basic geometric transformations. Students completed Stage 4, found on Google Classroom.
Vocabulary:
Rotate - To turn a shape around a center point.
Scale - To increase the dimensions of a shape by the same factor in all directions.
Translate - To move a shape from one location to another.
Stein - Math 8 Plus - 4.26.17
What We Did Today:
Students completed A and B from Problem 1.2 - In a Spin: Rotations. Students made generalizations regarding rotational symmetry. Students then constructed their own rotational figures using 120 degree and 90 degree rotations, choosing their own center point of rotation. Notes are available at http://norupstein.weebly.com/math-8-plus-blog
Focus Question:
What does it mean to say that a figure has turn or rotation symmetry? How is each point related to its image under transformation by rotation?
Homework:
None.
