Monday, November 3

Science: Took our first notes for Unit 2 on Newton's 1st law of motion, force, mass and inertia. Homework is to complete the Isaac Newton Reading Reflection. We will also have a binder check on Friday.

Geometry: Went over the composite of reflections over two parallel lines from Thursday and began doing proofs of composite reflections over two parallel lines. Homework is to complete the proofs of the other 4 cases.


Humanities: Students shared political cartoons and began to analyze political advertisements in preparation for the 2014 election. Homework is to interview someone at home. Students should ask the following questions: What issues do you believe are most important for this election? Who would you like to see as the next governor of Michigan? Why? Students should have answers to these questions for tomorrow.

RR English: Read every evening, reading log is due Monday, November 3- parents must sign reading logs.

RR Math: A section of math should be completed each night; Math packet is due Tuesday, November 4. TEST: Tuesday, November 4

Pre-Algebra: Today we took notes over 2.7, one-step equations with decimals. The homework is 2.5 - 2.7 Review all. We will review tomorrow and Wednesday.

Algebra: We finished our discussion of section 4.2 - graphing linear equations using tables. Homework: 3.8 practice (all) and 4.2 worksheet (evens only)

ELA- We continued our study of Pronouns with Grammar Chapter 3 Lesson 6: Interrogative and Demonstrative Pronouns. While students worked on this worksheet I met with students individually. We discussed the reading they did last marking period, what worked what didn't and set their goals for 2nd marking period. Most students should be reading books that are 10 points or above.
