Stein - Math 8 Plus - Monday, March 7, 2016

Classwork

Students worked on Problem 3.2, page 42-43. Students were given different puzzles and compared them in order to prove the Pythagorean Theorem.

Focus Question

"How can you prove that the relationship observed in Problem 3.1 will work for all right triangles?"

Homework

Finish Problem 3.2 on page 43 if it was not completed in class. Your puzzles needs to be glued or drawn in your notes.

Classwork: Student observed a phenomena involving static and then worked on developing a model to explain the phenomenon.

Homework: Students should be working on their circuits, evidence of circuits due Wednesday.

English - Kennedy

Students will be finishing up their viewing of To Kill a Mockingbird and then doing a short Compare/Contrast of the book and the movie in their journals.

Tuesday - We will begin our Grammar Chaper 5 Adjectives and Adverbs Lessons 1-3

Wednesday - Grammar Chapter 5 Lessons 4-6 Parent Teacher conferences 5:30 - 8:00

Thursday - 1/2 Day no afternoon classes Parent teacher conferences I am only available 12:00-5:00 this day.

Friday - Grammar Chapter 5 Lesson 7 and take home - open note -  Quiz assigned (Due by Monday)

RR ELA- Reading logs are due today, if you did not turn one in. You can do so tomorrow for late points ( late points are better than no points)

Your new reading logs are due Monday ( 3.14.16) Students should be reading for a minimum of 20 minutes ( five days a week) You must complete the short reader's response section, along with having a parent signature for all five days.

RR Math-  Students took their math test today. The math packet and multiplication sheet are due today, if you did not turn one in. You may do so tomorrow for late points. The new homework packet and multiplication sheet are due on/before Monday (3.21.16) and your test will be on Tuesday (3.22.16) 

Individuals and Societies

-Students received chapters 12/13 assessment grades and analyzed political advertisements in class today.

-No homework.

-Conferences are Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
