I forgot to mention in my previous post:

Don't forget that you have a partner quiz Friday!

Math 8 - Stone

Welcome back! We finished up investigation 3 today. In investigation 3.4 we focused on determining whether or not a function is quadratic by looking at the table. We discovered when you take the second differences of the y-values (subtract the consecutive y-values, then subtract again) the same number results. This can help us determine that the function is quadratic and conversely, if we know the function is quadratic, we can fill in the data table.

Homework: page 55 (17-24)

Science-Wilcox-Wednesday

Classwork: Today we reviewed answers to the midterm exam. We then started reading about electricity and taking notes. Extra copies of note packets are in the science folder on the blog and we read pages 298-301. Please try to keep up if you are absent!

Friday we reexamined the hand shake situations from Thursday and we worked on creating equations, tables and graphs for each one. We discussed the patterns we see for quadratic functions in the table, graph, and equation.

Due Wednesday, February 22: Remember to make quiz corrections. If you need extra points and you have below an 85%  on your quiz (after corrections) complete the worksheet at the following link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9_EAUW_J80vOE1UOERjck5QYW8/view?usp=sharing.
