Tuesday, September 30

Science: Continued building our understanding of distance vs. time graphs and introduced speed time graphs. Students finished the unit 1 notes. Daily science quiz tomorrow!

Geometry: Continued practicing proofs, homework is to complete the proofs about parallel handout. Unit 1 test Friday!

RR English: Readings logs were due yesterday. If you forgot yours, please turn it in by tomorrow for a reduced point- better than a zero!! Your new reading log was passed out today and will be due on Monday 10.6.14. Please remember you need to respond to each readers response one time (5 days) and you need to follow exactly what the response asks you to do for full points.

RR Math:
1. On Monday 10.6.14 your math homework packets are due-both groups! You will also need to make sure your X sheet is filled out and signed. You can turn your homework in a day or two early if you want me to check it so you can use it to study!
2. Your test will also be on Monday 10.6.14. Study!
3. Purple group, you need to finish your workbook pages that we did in class today for tomorrow if you did not finish them in school today.

Humanities: Students were introduced to chapter 2 of the textbook, and began to work on guided questions (found in the section) for 2.1 of the text. Homework is to finish 2.1 guided questions.

French 2: Passé composé quiz this Thursday, using vocabulary from last year and this year and translating sentences (with a word bank)

ELA- Students finished publishing their narrative poems today. They then worked on Chapter 2 of our Grammar book - there are only 6 lessons in this chapter, all lessons are due at the end of class on Thursday, Quiz on Friday. We will be moving on to our Science Fiction Reader's Workshop next week. Homework: Journal #1.20, Read, get at least 2.1 & 2.2 done in packet.

Algebra: Whew! We were busy today! Our main focus in equation and inequality solving. Homework: 3.3/6.3 worksheet

Pre-Algebra: Today we took notes over 1.5. We will most likely have a Chapter 1 test next week. I passed out a challenge sheet that students can complete to push themselves! Notes, homework and challenge sheet can be found at http://norupstein.weebly.com/pre-algebra-notes-and-homework

Physical Education: Answer the following questions What skill is hard for you to master in flag football? Explain why and how you might improve.Where would you most like to see improvement in yourself?
·         How do you know when you really understand something?
Criteria
  • Essay should be informative and 1-2 pages in length.
  • Double check your spelling.
  • A typed paper is preferred but you may hand write it. Must be legible.
This homework is due on Wed.,October 8th
You may turn it in before the due date, but it will be late (lower grade) if not turned in when you come to class.
