Wednesday, November 5

Science: Finished discussing the difference in acceleration rates on a flat track compared to a downhill track and learned how to practice acceleration. Students also discussed Isaac Newton and the universal law of gravitation.

Geometry: Began investigating composites of reflections over intersecting lines. Reflections of parallel lines quiz tomorrow!


RR English: Read every evening; Reading log is due Monday, November 10, parents must sign reading logs.

RR Math: A section of math should be completed each night.

French 2: Quiz on Monday on the passé composé, the present tense, the futur proche and the commands. This will be retakeable.

Humanities: Students analyzed election results and were introduced to 4.2 of the text in class.
-Homework is to complete a 4.2 free choice.


ELA-Students discussed any problems with the Grammar last night. We then moved on to Grammar Chapter 3 Lesson 7 "Indefinite Pronoun Agreement", After passing out the Text Packet for our next Writer's Workshop (Literary Essay) I read the beginning of the mentor text "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury. I modeled how I would make notes at particular parts of the story, how I would think out loud what the theme would be, and how I would mark up the text to show evidence. Homework: Journal #2.3, Grammar 3.7, and READ!

Algebra: Finally! We are talking about slope. We discussed section 4.4. Homework: 4.4 worksheet (1-13)
