Tuesday, January 8

Geometry: Went over the midterm review and discussed what students might want to include on their "cheat sheets". We will do more practice tomorrow, the midterm is Friday.

Science: Went over Energy Packets and collected data for Investigation 3B (Conservation of Energy). 


Pre-Algebra: We worked on adding and subtracting fractions with uncommon denominators.  Homework: worksheet 5.3 evens

Algebra: Problem Solving Workshop #5 was due today.  We collected data today to work on Best Fit Line to scatterplots.  No homework tonight!

Humanities: Students checked 7.1, finished a video, and discussed early battles of the American Revolution in class. Please note that students received grade updates in class today.  All grades are available on Family Access.  Homework is to study for a "pop" quiz tomorrow.  The expectation is as follows: "Briefly explain five causes of the American Revolution.  Of the five, which do you believe to be the most important and why?". Note from Mrs. Petersen: Use a mnemonic device to help remember 5 causes of the revolution!

ELA - Students went through a two step Peer Review Process (Click here for the rainbow editing form and the peer editing form).  Those that did not have their Rough Draft done worked on it in the hall and came in during lunch if they needed the extra time to complete the assignment. Homework: Rewrite and Revise for 2nd draft of Literary Essay.  Journal Entry #49

Thursday - Publishing and Proofreading - COW -
Homework - Final Draft & Journal Entry
Friday - Final Packet Due (including; rough draft, Peer Edit sheet, Revision- 2nd Draft, Final Draft, and Rubric.)


Course 3: We worked on multi-step equations with decimals and fractions.  This is very difficult.  Students need to practice at home.  5th hour has worksheet 6.3, # 1 - 14, decimals to do.  1st through 4th hour-no homework.
