Friday, February 3

Science: We completed Investigation 13-A, which involved taking circuit measurements in a circuit with a dimmer switch. Midterm results were returned to students and we went over the midterm exam.

Geometry: Went over the 7.7 homework and took notes on the law of sine and cosine. Homework is page 491 #1-7. Chapter 7 test is Wednesday.

Spanish I: Oral questions quiz on Monday if you did not already have it yesterday or today. First part of 2.2 vocab quiz can be taken any day next week before Friday, Feb 10th, on the 16 words you were given yesterday. Work on the vocabulary practice packet to get ready for it.

Humanities: I will be out of the building on Thursday and Friday. Students will have work for 9.2 on Thursday and 9.3 on Friday. If students choose, they can earn rarely offered extra credit by completing chapter 9 assessment by Monday.

Algebra (Graham): We finished up Chapter 7 today with graphing systems of inequalities. Homework is the first 4 problems (front side only) of a graphing worksheet, and to finish up the story problems worksheet they received yesterday. Have a great weekend!

Algebra (Hill): Finish your take home story problem quiz for Monday. Some of the problems are tricky to solve so don't put it off till Sunday night. As always credit will be given for any valid attempt on a problem as long as you show your work. Have a great weekend!
Technology (Graham): Presented our "6 Words" . They were very cool.
ELA - Students took their TKM chapters 7-9 quiz, then moved on to work on their Persuasive Research Essays. For Day 6 of the Writer's Workshop, students revisited the articles we read on Wednesday and located the opposing view. Three out of four of the articles were for raising the driving age so students needed to find in that article the place where the author acknowledged the other side's view. They then practiced writing statements that were for and against specific "teen issues", and finally they looked back at the views they wrote about on Wednesday and found specific facts that disproved the opposing view. It is important that they recognize that there is an opposing view to their opinion, and also be able to find facts that "debunk" the opposing view. Homework: Read

Tech (Kennedy): Students took a typing test (hand covered) on Typingweb.com. They then cleaned up and completed any Moodle Assignments from the week that are not completed. Assignments due this week:
Rule of the e Road - Forum Post
Copyright Challenge Quiz certificate printed and handed in
Applying a Process of Information Literacy - Assignment Questions & Information turned in
Finding My Place in the World - Managing Your Career - Forum Post
Applying Technology Skills and Information - Building Computer Skills - Forum Post
This can all be viewed from home as Moodle is a web-based online classroom program.
